She qualified as an occupational therapist in 1986 and has worked as an occupational therapy clinician, researcher, professional lead, service improvement lead, and educator. She has taught and undertaken research at universities in England, Canada, and the USA. Alison’s PhD resulted in the development of the Structured Observational Test of Function (SOTOF), and she has focussed much of her research and writing around occupational therapy and allied health professionals’ assessment and outcome measurement, particularly with older people. This has included the development of the Activity Card Sort – United Kingdom version (ACS-UK) and publication of two textbooks and several book chapters on assessment, including ‘Principles of Assessment and Outcome Measurement for Allied Health Professionals: Practice, Research and Development’ (Laver-Fawcett and Cox, 2021). She is currently Chair of the Research into Occupational Therapy and Occupational Science (ROTOS) Foundation Board and Chair of the Occupational Therapy Europe Foundation Board.YES

Working for DPT for over 20 years in a variety of community, inpatient and specialist roles. She has a passion for research and is excited to have a paper soon to be published in the Lancet she co- authored in the area of psychiatric liaison. Danielle Morgan: Danielle is an Advanced Specialist Occupational Therapist including advanced sensory integration practitioner, working within our specialist Learning Disability inpatient service. Danielle is actively involved in the development of the new Leaning Disability Unit which will be completed June 2024 to ensure its sensory friendly and trauma informed. Kristel Sebastian: Kristel has been Occupational Therapist for almost 3 years, following working in inpatient mental health Kristel secured the role of Specialist Occupational Therapist just over a year ago. Developing the Occupational Therapy pathway with-in the Specialist Eating Disorder Unit (SEDU) for Devon, Kristel has made strong links across the South West and beyond to explore emerging evidence based Occupational Therapy intervention for SEDUs to include VDT MocA functional levels and the use of sensory approaches for trauma and attachment.

She holds a first-class honours degree in Health and Social Care as well as a diploma in Education and Training. She has a wealth of experience, from working as a HCA, to a Care Manager running a supported living service for adults with learning disabilities and then as a Compliance Manager refining quality assurance systems, providing training and improving CQC ratings. In 2023, Hannah set up Wright Way Training with an aim to use an approach where staff training is fun, inspirational and motivational. Using her vast knowledge and experience, Hannah captures her audience with real world examples from her own practice, engaging and empowering them to want to learn.
