Care home laundry: the benefits of outsourcing
There are many elements that need to be considered when weighing up the true cost of care home laundry. Some, such as the investment in equipment purchase or hire, can be more obvious and easier to calculate. Others, such as energy usage, detergent and water consumption, can vary depending on the volume of laundry processed and the impact of market fluctuations, and there are also additional ‘hidden’ costs that need to be factored-in, such as the staff time and resources that are spent ensuring that in-house laundry processes run smoothly and efficiently.
Switching to a managed laundry service provider can help to streamline care home operations, with one fixed monthly cost providing better budget forecasting, and professionally monitored processes ensuring high quality and effective laundry management at all times. This seminar will explore some of the key challenges currently facing UK care homes, and explain how outsourcing laundry services can help care homes combat these, improving efficiency and reducing costs while maintaining the highest standards of care for residents.
