Cyber Resilience in Social Care
This panel session will focus on the on cyber resilience state of the social care sector. Experts from the southwest cyber resilience centre, local care associations and social care services will share insights into what measures can be taken to protect social care businesses and their service users. The discussion will focus on practical implementation of cyber security practices, collaboration between organisations and projects and opportunities available for care providers.
Speaker Bio:
Daniel Plummer, Project Delivery Officer, Registered Care Providers Association
Dan supports adult social care providers in Somerset with data security and digital transformation. Providing the delivery for the Better Security, Better Care programmes support of the Data Security and Protection Toolkit. Dan has also delivered projects involving cyber resilience, data security health check, and adoption of DSCR system.
Joseph Ross CITP FBCS, Chief Technology and Finance Officer – The Cyber Resilience Centre for the South West
Joseph Ross is a Chartered Fellow of the BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT, and operates as the Chief Technology and Finance Officer of the South West Cyber Resilience Centre, seconded from his role as a member of Police Staff at Wiltshire Police. Joseph has submitted his PhD thesis in Digital Transformation and AI and is awaiting assessment. His research has been conducted through the University of Plymouth and with support from the Royal Navy. Prior to this, Joseph’s background is in teaching computer science, and he also served in the Royal Navy. Joseph is passionate about supporting the community to protect themselves in the digital age.
