Speaker Bio:

Romy-Jo Johnson – Strategic Lead and Service Manager for Humans Cornwall.

Romy-Jo is co-founder and chief operating officer of Humans Cornwall, a programme within disAbility Cornwall & Isles of Scilly.

After a BSc Hons in Business Management and Marketing at Kingston University, she returned to Cornwall, taking up a role which quickly evolved due to the pandemic, into working with NHS and Social Care colleagues to address the barriers to discharging people from hospital. She worked to create a seamless pathway with personalised, holistic and wrap around support.

This evolved into a trailblazer programme in personalisation and helped shape and influence new systems and operations across the wider system. It has also involved trialling the first NHS Discharge Grants, Personal Health Budgets, non-medication med-prompt reviews.

Humans Cornwall is a personalised support system with both office-based brokers and community teams, and a social movement, incorporating a network of PAs and Micro (care) providers.

Romy works across all sectors and is a recognised leader in person-centred support through integrated working.
