Core Skills Programs – expanding preceptorship and supporting staff development

In response to a service need for improving professional identity, workflow, patient outcomes, and staff satisfaction, support and retention, the Somerset NHS Foundation Trust has invested in developing ongoing skills programs for its occupational therapy staff at all banding levels. By initiating core skills programs for bands 5, 6 and 7, positive trends have been demonstrated in retention and job satisfaction. This seminar discusses the efficacy of implementing these programs into the work environment.
