Wellness in bathing for body and mind

Taking a bath is one of life’s simplest pleasures – a welcome timeout to unwind, relax and indulge. And it has long been known to have a positive impact not just on hygiene, but on many aspects of physical health, mental health and overall quality of life. For a resident living in long term care, maintaining personal hygiene habits established at home, such as having a bath, is an integral part of a person-centred care approach. Maintaining personal hygiene can contribute to over-all wellbeing - comfort, dignity and safety. This in turn can provide many benefits for caregivers and the facility.

This session will explore the daily challenges healthcare facilities face today. It will outline the many physical and cognitive benefits of warm water bathing for residents and identify effective bathing solutions which can also positively impact caregivers and facilities in terms of efficiency, safety and wellness.
